Tallgrass Theatre Festival announces the premiere of popular local playwright, Dan Gordon’s, new play, Solo Club. The new drama is a first for Gordon as most of his previous works have been comedies.

Joe Sears, creator of the Tallgrass Theatre Festival, says the new drama is indeed a serious play and obviously took a labor of artistic love to bring to fusion as Gordon has worked on the drama for several years, and taken it through as many public readings making changes throughout the process. After many incarnations, Gordon eventually honed in on the final script the public will see this coming June 25th through the 28th.

Solo Club will premiere at Theater Bartlesville as part of the summer Tallgrass Theatre Festival offerings.  “This summer event will no doubt draw state wide attention to Bartlesville’s theatre scene since the theme centers on pertinent issues facing all American communities with troubled teens fending for survival on the streets after many lose faith in the home, the community and ultimately humanity itself” said Sears, who has scheduled only four performances of the play.  Shelby Brammer will direct the cast selected from Bartlesville actors. Brammer, who recently directed a very successful production of Our Town for Theater Bartlesville, will be heading up the artistic team putting the premiere of the new drama together. Gordon couldn’t have a better choice for directing his play. The cast for this emotionally packed play is well known among theatre patrons in the area: Leasha Snell, Jason Elmore, Morris McCorvey, Bernie Meadows, Mason Combes, Ron Stotts and featuring Joseph Trudeau as the teen boy.
