Actors' Workshop with Joe Sears

1-3pm • Tuesdays • Feb 10 - March 17

You’ve always wondered what it’s like to be on stage…wondered what goes on backstage during a theatre performance…and maybe even thought, “I wonder if I could do that.” It’s time to stop waiting in the wings and step into the limelight! This is your chance to experience life backstage and onstage, learn the basics of theatre. Participate in a one-act play and learn directing, blocking, and test your skill at character acting. Begin learning your craft at the Theatre Bartlesville with the master, Joe Sears. While the program is focused on senior citizens, it is open to any adult. Sign up will be available at the first class on Tuesday, February 10 at 1 pm. Tuition is only $50 for the classes which are being offered through the OSU College of Education Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Joe Sears is involved with many activities around Northeast Oklahoma since retiring from the national tour of Tuna. With a Broadway debut and Tony Award nomination for Best Actor, Joe is now firmly seated in the history of Broadway. He is proud to return home to Oklahoma as Artistic Director at Theater Bartlesville. His 32 years of national tours include many theatre experiences with play, television, film, and two command performances at the White House. Joe has written six published plays and performed in eight Shakespearean productions. He received the Los Angles Drama Logue Award for Acting; three Helen Hayes Award nominations; and was declared a national living treasure by the Washington Post. In addition to volunteering as Theater Bartlesville’s artistic director, he is also director of Tulsa Spotlight Theatre’s The Drunkard.
